Welcome to Future Roots Young Ambassadors
We wanted to open up this page to explain a little of what we are hoping to achieve within our amazing Future Roots Ambassador’s Groups and the wider Young People’s Community. We also hope that our findings from our monthly Ambassador’s meetings resonate with other young people to help effect personal change or to aid training with Schools, Local Authorities or any Organisations directly working with young people. These findings will be show-cased within a 20-minute video and also a book that demonstrates the ‘tricky’ experiences and situations that ‘our’ young people have voiced their concerns about at our monthly meetings.
Both Ambassador age groups (under 16 yrs and over 16yrs) decided on 4 topics that were important to them, they were: Schools, Services to young people, Relationships and Mental Health.
With generous funding from the National Lottery, we have been able to explore their concerns on these topics and in turn we hope there will be a better understanding of their needs and worries when able to see and hear their life stories. Future Roots wish to thank the National Lottery for their generous funding of this vital outlet of our young people’s voices and to hugely praise each of our Young Ambassador’s themselves for their strength and bravery to share their sometimes-awful times in the hope it may help someone else.
