Impact & Outcomes

Future Roots has a long and well-established record of improving life chances and reaching positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people referred to our services.

Our programmes are designed to help children and young people who have difficulty engaging within the mainstream school environment. Those who have experienced emotional trauma, are struggling with attachment issues or have difficulties learning are able to achieve success through the unique opportunities we offer using therapeutic approaches to learning, nurture, and enrichment.

A recent study (2017 Bournemouth University) undertaken by Sarah Hambridge concluded that the farm environment is conducive for young people to build key social, life and relationship skills, thus enhancing their chances of remaining within education, employment, or training.

Our Approach follows a rigorous system of assessment, review, and evaluation to ensure our programmes continue to develop in ways that benefit young people and society. At the core are key objectives of providing young people with opportunities, recognising their achievements, and offering direction.

Our contribution through inclusion belief offers the understanding that young people need. Everyone who comes to Future Roots has something to contribute and something to gain from their participation. We ensure our programmes reflect this in the outcomes for young people, their families, and the wider community.

Our Outcomes framework is based upon the resilience model and the five domains below. Individual outcomes are formulated within this.
