Future Roots is a social enterprise with charitable aims and objectives. Our work to enhance young people’s lives through positive mentoring and learning opportunities could not take place without the generosity of local people and businesses here in Dorset and Somerset. There are lots of ways that you could get involved and support us.

 

Donate online

You can make a one off or regular monthly donation via Local Giving. By donating through Local Giving we are able to claim Gift Aid of 25% on your donation if you are a UK taxpayer.

 

Donate by cheque

Cheques need to be made payable to Future Roots ltd and can be sent to Julie Plumley Rylands farm Boys hill Holnest Sherborne Dorset DT9 5PS Please note that we cannot currently collect Gift Aid on donations made by cheque.

 

Trust and foundations

Future Roots has benefitted from the generosity of a number of trusts and foundations. While we are not a registered charity, we do operate as a social enterprise with charitable aims and have been granted not-for-profit status by HMRC. If you would like to support us then please contact us and we would be happy to give you more information or fill in the required forms.

Corporate sponsorship

Young people who attend the farm often change their life trajectory to a much more positive future and business can be assured that the organization relies on the strength of its reputation and sustainability. We would particularly welcome sponsorship of our annual awards ceremonies, of individual students to access training like tractor tests, food Hygiene and for pieces of equipment. We would promote business support through social media, on our leaflets, banners and through the talks we give within the Community.

 

Volunteer

Volunteers work alongside our staff on the farm. Some help us deliver sessions to young people while others spend time in the office or help with cleaning. There is an expectation that all volunteers will adhere to our staff handbook. If you would like to find out more about volunteering, then please email us on office@futureroots.net. Note that all volunteers will be required to have a DBS check. We can process this at no cost to you.
