You can’t always get what you want

I had my eye on a treat or two last week, as all the bull calves were being castrated (so now they are known as ‘steers’). I was quiet, patient, and really understanding because I knew the calves were not going to be happy about the procedure. Of course, they were in the safe hands of Friars Moor Veterinary Clinic. But I didn’t get anything at the end of the day! Apparently, they were worried that the anaesthetic would knock me out. Can you believe, a tough little Jack Russell like me being knocked out…

In other news, we have three new piglets at the farm! Two of them are playful little sweeties, but the other is a cheeky sausage who tried to bite me. I reckon that one won’t end up as a breeding pig for making bacon when it gets older, but she is more likely to be the bacon!

And, I mustn’t forget that it is out Open Day soon so there is lots of tidying being done and not much time for play. I am trying to help (really I am), but it is hot and I am not so energetic in the heat. Off for a lay down now to get ready for tomorrow…
