Young Ambassadors Questions

On wednesday 6th March we asked the under 16’s Ambassador group 3 Questions to help everyone know a little more about them. We hope that this helps you all to.

Questions:

  1. How did you feel when you were asked to be an Ambassador?
  2. Describe your positive qualities in just 3 words?
  3. What is your favourite memory of your time at Future Roots?

These are the answers we received:

Violet

I felt happy to be asked to be an Ambassador but also confused as I didn’t know what an Ambassador was when I was first asked.

3 words to describe my best qualities are:

Reliable – Caring – Interested.

My favourite memories of my time at Future Roots are of going for walks along the river – water fights in the summer – lying with the cows and hide and seek with Opie (the dog).

Kristian

I felt proud to be asked to be an Ambassador.

3 words that describe my best qualities are:

Kind – Quiet – Blunt.

My favorite memory of my time at Future Roots are of me falling down into a big hole in the haybales and having fun getting out.

Comfort

I felt lucky to be asked to be an Ambassador even though I didn’t know what an Ambassador was to begin with.

3 words that describe my best qualities are:

Kind – Trustworthy – Helpful.

My favourite memory of my time at Future Roots were of me getting myself stuck in some mud and having to be rescued.

Keira:

When I was asked to be an Ambassador I thought it would give me a break from being at home.

3 words that describe my best qualities are:

Sporty – Caring – Trustworthy.

My favourite memory of my time at Future Roots was of my favourite sheep called Marshmallow. She loved me too and would follow me around for attention.

Katie

I didn’t know what an Ambassador was to start off with but after I knew I was Happy about it.

3 words that describe my best qualities are:

Happy – Confident – Hyper.

My favourite memory of my time at Future Roots was when I was learning to trim goat’s feet and accidentally got head butted by Gerry the Goat.

Mental Health Questions

Later in the session we talked with the young people about Mental Health and asked them 3 questions:

Question 1: How do you know when your mental health is good?

Their collective answers were:
Your Happier – More Social – Eat better – Sleep better – Less angry – More Patient – More energy and get out of bed earlier.

Question 2: Who would you go to if your mental health was suffering?

Their collective answers were:
Friends – Mentors at Future Roots – Family.

Question 3: What could you do to improve it?

Their collective answers were:
Dancing – Listen to music – Animal / Art / Music Therapy – Spend time with people who lift your mood – Know your cycle so you know you will come out of it (if it runs in a cycle) – Sport – Learn a new skill – Keep your mind busy – Go outside / Walking.
