My name is Tim and I joined Future Roots in January this year. Although this is only 6 months or so ago it already feels a lot longer which is great. I work mainly in the office helping Julie and Naomi but there is nothing I enjoy more than being able to go outside and meet the young people and see the animals. I don’t really have a favourite animal as they all have their own personalities but I do like the geese and ducks and often go to look at them on the beautiful Ryland’s Farm pond. I have soft spot for Alice the pony, she is so calm and chilled (something I like to be too!). Before I came to Future Roots I worked in Dorset Council Children’s Services and had to wear smart clothes and shoes – now I can wear a T shirt and Wellies, Brilliant!!
One of the best things about my job is seeing how well young people understand the needs of the animals and support each other on the Farm. I am always amazed at what our young people can achieve as long as someone believes in them and gives them a chance. This is what I really like about Future Roots – everyone gets a chance to succeed. Most of my working life I have been working in teams that help children young people and their families and now I am very proud to be part of the Future Roots top team.
