Thursday 31st October 2024 saw our exciting project come to fruition as our Ambassadors came together to launch our first book – Are You Listening Now?
The book which was very kindly sponsored by The Community Lottery Fund enabled 8 of our brave young people to talk about their most challenging times with in their lives and share the power of being listened to.
Each of the young people in the book have attended Future Roots for a number of years and hoped that by sharing their experiences they may be able to help other young people in similar circumstances.
The book Launch was a great success with two MP’s – Simon Hoare and Edward Morrello aswell as other important dignitaries attending
Our guest speakers Author Chris Wild and Forensic Psychologist Yvonne Shell both spoke passionately about the importance of listening to the young people’s voice and were very highly received. A huge thank you must go to them and the staff of Future Roots for working so well together to highlight such an important issue of this modern-day problem.
We were delighted to hear from several prospective sponsors to help us produce book two.
