Easter is here and that means the young ‘uns are running around looking for eggs of the chocolate kind (the sort I’m supposed to leave). They look in the rabbit hutches, the chicken coops, up trees, in animal feed bins, on the tractor and generally charge around until all the clues are found. They seem really happy and find it lots of fun.
For me, it’s a confusing time; I just don’t seem to be allowed to take part in the fun. The grown ups talk of an Easter Bunny, which I’m sure Bella the greyhound would love to chase, as well as eggs and prizes. I’m always up for a competition and love an egg or two, but we are excluded from taking part in any of it. We’re even told to stay away from the clues and the prizes!
I believe in fairness and equal opportunities. I treat everyone the same no matter how old they are, whether they are tall or small (like me!) or if they are a girl or a boy. So I greet everyone who comes to the farm and offer them all a kiss, unless they scare me or I have a cold and don’t want to pass it on. Just because we are dogs doesn’t mean we should be treated differently.
So I’m proposing an Easter Rat Hunt for myself and Bella. I like that idea, as I would definitely win: she can’t keep up with a rat because of her long legs that are great at running in straight lines, but terrible at twisting and turning after a rat!
Have a great Easter,
