The young people at Future Roots may not all be academic but when they are offered opportunities that interest them we have found they are willing to study and work as hard as they can.
In two years Future Roots have supported over 50 young people to pass City & Guild land based operations level 1. This qualification requires a mix of practical, knowledge and project work.
Many of those students then went on to become young leaders, going on to study at a college or gain employment.
This qualification has led on to us developing a Learning Den for other learning opportunities. Young people can now do Maths and English functional skills Entry, 1 and 2 levels. Young health Champion, John Muir awards, food Hygiene and employability skills among other qualifications.
