Safeguarding
Future Roots recognises that the welfare and safety of all our participants is paramount. We take our duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in our care seriously and take every step to ensure they remain safe on our farm and elsewhere.
All our team are experienced professionals and are safeguarding trained. We follow the Pan Dorset Safeguarding Partnership Safeguarding Policies and Processes and have our own rigorous reporting process for staff to report concerns.
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are Julie Plumley (our Director and Founder) and Darren Morgan (Manager). Julie is a Registered Social Worker with many years’ experience of working in and managing children’s services. Darren is an experienced Further Education Manager, SENDCo, teacher and has focused on supporting students in SEND foundation studies. He has a PGCE (SENCO) and a Master’s Degree in Museum Education. Darren Rowe, is our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and has worked in youth work, schools and at one of Dorset’s Learning Centres.
