We are both proud and sorry to be losing Jordan.
Jordan has gone from being a young person who was struggling with mainstream school and making negative decisions, feeling he was not good enough to get a job and that people had given up on him.
To a 19 year old who can hold his head high and be proud of the man he has become. He has worked really hard at Future Roots completing functional skills maths and english with our tutor Debbie, worked with Sonya and Darren our mentors to do the practical level 1 land based operations and worked alongside our volunteer Mike and farm co ordinator Chris to learn skills and put his strengths into practice.
He completed his MO1 tractor test at Kingston Maurward and he completed his apprenticeship in partnership with Future Roots and Kingston Maurward. Jordan completed work experience at other farms arranged through Future Root and secured a full time job on a dairy farm and although early days his boss has said they already think a lot of him.
He has saved enough to buy his brand new motor bike and will be taking his road tractor and bike test when covid restrictions are lifted. He is not only a hard working reliable employee, he has become a thoughtful and responsible individual. His road may not always be straight in the future but we know he has the strengths to get back on track. We are proud to have worked alongside him as his Sat nav over the last five years. We know he will be back to see us and he is always part of this farm family.
