Want to be a care farmer? CEVAS (and Future Roots) can show you how.
You may have heard about, or even attended, CEVAS training which was primarily aimed at educational visits to farms. From January 2015 the two day Open College Network-accredited course will be delivered through two optional routes: an Educational Route that covers mainly school visits with educational aims and outcomes, and a Therapeutic Route that covers a wide range of visitors with mainly therapeutic aims and outcomes.
Each route consists of three units, the first of which is common to both. The latter route is geared to the needs of prospective and practicing care farmers and has been developed with Care Farming UK and Access To Farms. It will be delivered by experienced care farmers, including Future Roots in Dorset, and include work to take you through the Code of Practice.
